John Magufuli Set for Burial as New President Announces Funeral Date

Tanzania’s new President and former Deputy President to late Dr John Magufuli,Her Excellency, Madam Samia Suluhu Hassan has annouced a date for funeral of the country’s late Leader. President Samia Hassan in her announcement immediately after been sworn-in into office , said late President John Magufuli will be buried on Thursday of March 25 at his ancestral home in Chato , Geita region.
John Pombe Joseph Magufuli Born on 29 October 1959 died on 17 March 2021 was a Tanzanian politician who served as the fifth president of The United Republic Tanzania from 2015 until his death in 2021. He served as Minister of Works, Transport and Communications from 2000 to 2005 and 2010 to 2015 and was chairman of the Southern African Development Community from 2019 to 2020.
His remains as earlier pronuced by his immediate Deputy and the new president the United Republic will be laid to eternal rest in his home town of Chato.
Chato District is one of the five districts in Geita Region of northwestern Tanzania. Its administrative centre is the town of Chato.The main ethnic group in the district are the Sukuma.John Magufuli, who was elected as President of Tanzania in 2015, was born in Chato.
Meanwhile tributes and condolences from notable Leaders , sons and daughters of Africa at home and in diaspora has been rendered in honour of one of the most outstanding and respected President in the continent.
President Buhari , Uhuru Kenyatta , Edgar Lungu , Hage Geingob , of Nigeria,Kenya, Zambia and Namibia among others including some notable figure like professor PLO Lumumba have all sent their condolences while eulogies the late his examplary and selfless leadership.
