President Muhammadu Buhari declaration of November 1st as national youth day is a recognition that Nigerian youths have earnestly craved for, for a long time now.

Youths in Nigeria will now celebrate their resilience, achievements and raise awareness on their plights every 1st November.

It will give an opportunity to celebrate and mainstream young peoples’ voices, actions and initiatives, as well as their meaningful, universal and equitable engagement. The commemoration will take the form of a podcast-style discussion that is hosted by youth for youth, together with independently organized commemorations around the world that recognize the importance of youth participation in political, economic and social life and processes.

With the passage of the not too young to run bill into law, the youths of Nigeria has been given an eagle win to fly high, aspire and reach it’s peak in the mainstream politics, economy of Nigeria and also contribute to it’s growth!

To me as a person; this is a welcome development and all the youths who wishes Nigeria well should join hands and make this a reality.
